The 29th Creating Change Conference will be held Jan. 18 – 22, 2017 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown in beautiful and historic Philadelphia, and volunteers are needed!
Creating Change is the largest political gathering of leaders, activists and organizers in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and allied movement.
Founded in 1988, it convenes nearly 4,000 people from all across the United States for skills training, strategy discussions, information sharing, and networking, all for the purpose of strengthening the grassroots power of the LGBTQ movement, from the ground up.
Creating Change is the largest and most diverse and representative LGBTQ political training event in the United States. At Creating Change 2016 in Chicago, our 3864 attendees included:
- 45% people of color;
- 50% under 30 y/o;
- 27% trans/gender non-conforming;
- 8% straight/heterosexual
Over 4300 people attended the 2016 Creating Change Conference in Chicago. The conference aims to break that record with 4500 people at Creating Change 2017 in Philly.
The 2017 conference is in need of approximately 500 volunteers to provide essential on-site people power.
Volunteers perform essential functions to ensure the smooth operations of the Creating Change Conference, including serving as room monitors in the workshop sessions and staffing hospitality suites.
In exchange for a four-hour work shift on any day of the conference, you are eligible to attend the rest of that day’s sessions for FREE.
Note: As part of your volunteer commitment, you must attend a one-hour Volunteer Orientation & Training at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Sunday January 15, 2017.
