New Hope, PA will be celebrating their pride week starting this coming Sunday, May 14th, through Sunday, May 21st.
The Bucks County borough is hosting an array of events, from restaurant specials to drag shows and historical walks; you don’t want to miss what New Hope Celebrates, the city’s pride organization, is serving up this year.
Festivities will kick off on Sunday, May 14th at 11:30 AM with the unfurling of a rainbow equality flag atop the historic Hotel building home of the Starbucks on 4 E. Bridge & Main St.
Sunday also marks the beginning of the 2017 Pride Festival Art Walk – A Self-Guided Gallery.
On Monday, May 15th, join Miss Martini Madness for the Lipstick Monday Pride Show at The Raven. It’s her birthday celebration and pride all in one from 9 PM – 10:30 PM. Tickets are $5.
There will be a pool tournament at The Raven earlier on Monday evening as well, hosted by Frank Calabretti. Interested parties must register by 7 PM.
Tuesday, May 16th will start out at 5:30 PM with the May ConnX, an LGBT networking event hosted by Greater Philadelphia’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Independence Business Alliance (IBA). The event is free for IBA members, and $15 for non-members. Register here.
Also on Tuesday is the LGBT History Exhibit Opening Reception & Fundraiser starting at 7 PM, held in conjunction with the 2017 Pride Festival Art Walk – A Self-Guided Gallery.
Starting at New Hope Visitor’s Center with appetizers and wine, attendees will then go to Factory Girl Bakery for by desserts and light food, then to the River Queens Artisan Gallery and ending with cheese and beverages; these are the starting, intermediary, and ending points of the art walk. For nightlife on Tuesday, join the boys of Philly’s All-Male Burlesque Troupe for Bearlesque at The Raven, hosted by Josh Schonewolf. The free event starts at 8 PM.
Wednesday, May 17th brings a few delicious options to pride-goers plates.
Half Pride Hump Day at John & Peters will feature a half-price pride menu from 5 PM – 10 PM.
Then Locals Night! Supper Club from 6 PM – 10 PM at The Raven, which is a 3-course dinner for just $19.95, enjoyed to the sounds of Dena Underwood on piano. Also at The Raven is Bob’s Open Mic Night, a free event in The Oak Room from 7 PM – 10 PM.
Continuing into the week, Thursday, May 18th also brings a host of options.
Start the evening out at 7 PM with St. Philip’s Episcopal Church’s 2nd annual service for social justice, Remembering Stonewall, featuring special guest speaker Mike Segal, author and publisher of Philadelphia Gay News.
Not into chuch services? No problem! Check out Pride Trivia at Triumph Brewing Co., also starting at 7 PM.
Drop into The Raven for Russell Eiffert live in The Oak Room from 5 PM til 9 PM for a free casual sing-a-long, and stick around there for the Pride weekend kick-off event: All Male Revue Strip-Off from 10 PM – 2 AM.
The weekend gets rolling with a jam-packed Friday, May 19th. Check out the free opening reception of abstract Artist Erika Rachel starting 6 PM at PROP & r.e.d.SORATION, celebrating with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Also happening is one of the highlight events of the week, a special pride show of Clue On Stage at The Bucks County Playhouse starting at 8 PM, which doubles as a fundraiser for New Hope Celebrates! Tickets here.
Splash Riverboat presents the Pride Delaware River Cruise, departing from the docks at 11 Bridge Street, Lambertville, NJ at 8 PM and returns to dock at 9:45 PM. Tickets here!
A short fireworks display will happen at 9:30 PM.
Head over to The Raven for a TGIF Retro Dance Party, with Donna Summers and more! DJ David Petrilla will take you back in time from 9:30 PM til 2 AM. $5 at the door. Michael Ferreri will be on piano in The Oak Room 9 PM – 1 AM, free admittance.
Bowman’s Tavern will be hosting a free Open Mic Night with Bob Egan 8 PM – 12 AM.
Dena Underwood will be on piano at The Raven’s Oak Room from 9 PM til 1 AM.
Join DJ Eddie Martinez live at The Raven for the Pride Dance Party from 10 PM til 2 AM. Cover is $20 at the door and proceeds benefit New Hope Celebrates/future pride events.
Sunday, May 21st will feature a number of send-off events:
The Wet-N-Wild Pride Pool Party at The Raven Resort, 3 PM – 10 PM is $15 at the gate and will include free hot dogs and a special “Pool Side” show hosted by Miss Martini Madness and friends. A Live performance by Dena Underwood on piano, Armando Martinez as Diana Ross.
Relax beforehand with pride brunch at The Raven starting at 11 AM, then send the night off with free karaoke in The Oak Room with Gavin Patrick & DJ David Petrilla.
The Annual New Hope Ladies 2000 Pride Party at Havana on South Main Street in New Hope will host hundreds of women from 3 PM til 8 PM. $3.00 Sky Vodka Specials for the 1st hour plus an awesome buffet. $15 at the door.
