After an overwhelming show of community support, the majority of the Boyertown School Board voted to side with their current policy of allowing transgender students to use gender-appropriate locker rooms and restrooms and not settle in the recently filed lawsuit, reports Maria Salazar for WFMZ.
After hearing from 30+ speakers, the majority of whom urged the board to protect transgender students, the majority of the Boyertown School Board voted against settling the lawsuit in favor of continuing to allow transgender students to use the restrooms and locker rooms of the gender with which they identify.
This news came to the relief of many of the attending area residents, parents, and students.
