CENTER VALLEY, PA — Penn State Lehigh Valley has hosted it’s Pride Week Celebration, featuring an art exhibit by Will Hübscher titled “You Are Beautiful: Monotypes,” as well as performances by Vanity Unfair and the Lehigh Valley Gay Men’s Chorus, reports Emily Collins for Penn State News. The goal of the celebration was to connect students to local LGBT talent as well as resources.
Students were given information on the Bradbury-Sullivan Community Center by Liz Bradbury, the director of the Training Institute. Will Hübscher introduced his art, shared his story, and took questions.
“Penn State Lehigh Valley continues to support University Park’s ‘All In’ initiative. We promote inclusiveness, diversity, and acceptance. We are hoping to get a student Ally group up and going again soon,” said Kelley Schlie, Penn State Lehigh Valley’s LGBTQ coordinator and the organizer of the Pride Week Celebration itself.
Penn State Lehigh Valley’s Community Gallery will display Will Hübscher’s work through June 9. It is hosted in partnership the Fine Art Galleries at the Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center.
The artist reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on April 6th at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Both the reception and the exhibit are free and open to the public.
