On February 12th, the Chester County non-profit organization, LGBT Equality Alliance, hosted their annual “For the Love of Art” opening reception at Historic Yellow Springs.
Nearly 30 artists had their work featured throughout the gallery, from novices to pros. Phoenixville local Michael Riley-Hill showcased his well-known Provincetown paintings and Alan Smith, his iconic charcoal drawings.
Singer-songwriter, Andrea Nardello kicked off the afternoon entertainment and Sharon Bosquet closed out the show with her mesmerizingly soulful voice.
Artists sold their art throughout the show, donating 30% of their proceeds to the non-profit organization. LGBT Equality Alliance raised nearly $3,000 from the afternoon event.
During the event, both the Spring-Ford Area Senior High School and Owen J Roberts High School Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) clubs were granted $500 apiece to fund LGBT-focused school programming initiatives.
