Just announced as special guest star at the New Hope-Lambertville Winter Festival’s presentation of “An Evening at Odette’s” is acclaimed singer/bandleader Eddie Bruce, one of the most popular entertainers in the region and beyond.
Eddie’s appearance at this singular event is certainly appropriate, as he credits Chez Odette’s and Bob Egan for starting his cabaret career, which has led to rave reviews and sellout performances at venues such as Feinsteins in New York City, Resorts Hotel/Casino in Atlantic City, The Rrazz Room in Philadelphia and New Hope, and Philadelphia’s Prince Theater, just to name a few.
Of Eddie’s Tony Bennett tribute show, performed frequently of late in conjunction with Mr. Bennett’s 90th birthday, Philly Pops Music Director Michael Krajewski said, “Eddie Bruce is a wonderful singer with a warm and engaging personality, both on stage and off. His tribute to Tony Bennett is second to none because it’s filled with authenticity, respect, passion, and superb musicianship.”
Eddie joins former Odette’s musical director Bob Egan and Odette’s alumni along with The Brian Pastor Big Band for what will be a spectacular musical event; highly appropriate for the Lambertville-New Hope Winter Festival’s 20th Anniversary.
In its heyday, Odette’s was named by USA Today as one of the top 10 places to experience cabaret in the country, and at the time, was under the musical direction of Bob Egan.
Due to a series of damaging floods, Odette’s shut its doors in 2006, but on January 27, Winter Festival’s 20th Anniversary Concert will present “An Evening at Odette’s,” which will recreate the Odette’s cabaret experience with Odette’s alumni: pianist Bob Egan, trombonist Brian Pastor’s Big Band, and special guest, singer/bandleader Eddie Bruce.
Concert tickets for this singular event at the New Hope Solebury High School / Stephen J Buck Theater at 182 West Bridge St, New Hope, PA 18938 are available at winterfestival.net or by calling 267-987-7855.
Tickets are $45, $50 at the door or $90 for preferred seating and a pre-concert reception at a piano bar setting at Logan Inn, New Hope featuring David Barry who is also an Odette’s alumni.
